Another painting from B-TOY (stencil on canvas)

Recognition from afar!!

We recently had a visitor, another urban art fan, to the gallery all the way from Korea! She read about us in a "must see" book of Barcelona that featured Base Elements as a top attraction!

Here is a shot of our young visitor displaying her "i love barcelona" book! Below, she holds up two peace signs, exited to be in the gallery surrounded by all the amazing works of art!!

New work from Pedro Cuevas

Our friend and artist Pedro Cuevas is back on a 3 week visit to Barcelona. It has been wonderful to have him at Base Elements working on his new paintings, in the new series of work, he put away his collage technique that inspired him while living in Barcelona to focused only on the purest painting (brushes only).
It seems it was yesterday when he and his family went back to his hometown Buenos Aires, 2 years ago. In Buenos Aires he has been very productive, opened an art gallery Nenna Canale and revolutionized the art scene over there, focusing on art performances, progressive art techniques with a social conscious, also has formed a group of 6 artist Planta Carne, while creating his own work and showing at Dacil Art Gallery in Buenos Aires,...here are his links to follow his art career in Argentina.

Plaster Relief Panel

This is a relief panel that I bought from a friend, such a cool piece!. Probably an antique removed from an old house, so I'm going to put my artistic touches on this amazing piece.

Here is the almost finished result, still I will add more patina and a gold frame.

I found Jesus

Robert found Jesus one Tuesday night in the street. The sculpture belong to a restorer that retired and left the broken Jesus in the street. Jesus also contained a little plastic bag with all the broken pieces of the face, hand and the eye balls. Robert can not believe what he found.
Starting to restore the broken pieces of the face.
Getting the eyes on the face.
Gluing the eyes.
During restoration Robert decide he wanted to make a statement with his newly found Jesus.
White layer of paint
Gold leaf layer.
Robert decided to restore the sculpture to a period look.
